What is MAT?

Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is a type of treatment used to help someone with an opioid substance use disorder. The ultimate goal is for the patient to be able to fully function in society. This form of substance use disorder treatment is very successful for anyone wanting to work towards a life free from opioid abuse. A few examples of the opioids this treatment program addresses include Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Heroin, Fentanyl, and Morphine.

Get Started

Step 1: Call us at (319) 874-3000 to schedule an appointment. Say you are interested in the Medication Assisted Treatment or MAT program. No provider referral is required and you don’t have to be a current patient of our clinic. If you are ready to change your relationship with opioids, we want to help.

Step 2: When you come in for your first appointment, you will meet with a MAT nurse and counselor. During this time, our team will gather important information about you and have you fill out some paperwork.

Step 3: If you are a good candidate for the MAT Program, we will schedule another appointment for you with a MAT provider. If you and the provider decide you are a good fit for the program, the MAT nurse will share more information with you and finalize your individualized treatment plan.

We realize this treatment option presents a unique journey for everyone. We will make adjustments as needed so the program supports you in the best way possible.
