Discover and Support Peoples Community Garden
Ensuring our patients and their families have access to nutritious foods for a healthy diet is a priority for us. In 2019, we initiated the Peoples Community Garden, providing free seasonal fruits and vegetables to Peoples Community Health Clinic patients.
Located on the east side of the clinic, the garden is easily visible when driving down Franklin Street. The 2025 season crops included asparagus, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cantaloupe, carrots, chard, cilantro, collard greens, cucumbers, garlic, green onions, kale, lettuce, melon, okra, onions, bell peppers, hot peppers, potatoes, radishes, raspberries, spinach, squash, turnips, red tomatoes, green tomatoes, and zucchini.
Check back with us soon to find out more information about our garden for the 2026 season!
Garden Distribution
On designated "Distribution Days" community members can pick up produce from the garden table by the entrance of the Waterloo clinic. No appointments are necessary. All produce is free and will be distributed until gone.
2026 Season
Produce distribution will run every Monday and Thursday at 10:30 AM and will be located in front of the Waterloo clinic entrance. Variety of produce will differ each week depending on what is most abundant in that week's harvest.
Volunteer in the Garden
Do you love to garden and have a little time to give? We are always looking for volunteers who can give a few hours a week during our planting, growing, and harvesting season. If this sounds like something you might be interested in doing, contact our Garden Manager. .
